The book of Revelation was given to be an encouragement to believers to endure trials and tribulations in the current age on account of the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus. However, the book is often only used to argue regarding doctrinal differences regarding the timeline of future events or simply disregarded due to it’s contents being deemed as confusing and/or scary.
Lost in the midst is the purpose of the book and the hope to which we are called, presented in the very opening phrase: It is the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
