John encounters the awesomeness of Jesus. The sight terrifies John, as it would for any sinner in the presence of the Holy God. However, Jesus extends a hand of fellowship, made possible through His death, resurrection, and grace in forgiveness. John sees Jesus, the Living One, and is given the mission of writting down the remainder of the vision for the sake of the churches to receive the revelation of Jesus Christ.
